How is it Done?

The first step is a consultation with our artist to discuss your desired look. This is where we will assess whether you are a good candidate for the procedure and answer any questions you have. During this time, we will discuss the color and shape of your desired eyeliner look.

In the first session, we begin by cleaning and numbing the area around your eyes. Once numb, we will use a fine needle to deposit pigment into the skin. The amount of time this takes will depend on how dense you want the color to be and the design of your desired eyeliner shape.

After the pigment is implanted, the area will be cleaned, and a skin ointment will be applied. You can expect some swelling and redness in the days following the procedure. The result of your permanent makeup eyeliner will be visible after 4-6 weeks. Once healed, you will be left with long-lasting, beautiful eyeliner.

Is Permanent Eyeliner Safe?

The short answer is yes. Permanent Makeup Eyeliner is considered safe. One of our qualified artists performs the procedure using sterile equipment; the pigments used are FDA-approved. Additionally, Permanent Makeup Eyeliner typically lasts for several years before needing to be touched up. Of course, as with any cosmetic procedure, some risks are involved. These include infection, skin irritation, and allergic reactions. However, these risks are relatively rare and can be minimized by discussing allergies or medical concerns during the consultation and following aftercare instructions.

Aftercare for PMU Eyeline

Aftercare for permanent makeup eyeliner is essential to ensure the best possible results. Immediately after the procedure, the area will be swollen and tender. Avoid touching or rubbing the area, as this could irritate you. Cold compresses can help to reduce swelling. Keeping the area clean and dry in the days following the procedure is essential. Gently wash the area with mild soap and cool water. Apply a thin layer of provided skin ointment to keep the site moist and prevent scabbing. Avoid using makeup or other products around the eyes until fully healed. Most people see full results within 4-6 weeks. It is essential to avoid sun exposure during this time, as it can cause fading. Once healed, use SPF 30 or higher sunscreen to protect the area from sun damage. Permanent makeup can last for many years with proper care. Touch-ups may be needed every few years to maintain results. Follow our artist's recommendations for aftercare and maintenance to prolong your results.

Permanent Makeup is NOT Recommended for Any Client Who...

ARE: Pregnant • Nursing (no exceptions)• Diabetic • Sick (cold, flu, etc.) • Allergic to anesthetic (Lidocaine) or nickel • Using blood thinner medications HAVE: Previous Permanent Makeup on the brow area, unless the density of color is 30% or less • Viral infections and/or diseases • Epilepsy • A pacemaker or major heart problems • Had an organ transplant • A tendency towards keloids • Seborrheic Dermatitis • Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.) • Had Botox in the past 2 weeks • Upcoming vacations or special occasions planned shortly after • Used Accutane (oral acne medication) in the past year • Excessively oily skin • Sensitive skin that tends to bleed easily

PLEASE NOTE: Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be anywhere from 20-40% darker and bolder in color and 15% thicker. This can last up to 10 days after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place (This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures). The treated area may feel sunburned afterward, but minimal discomfort should be. During the initial healing period, the skin should be minimal scabbing or flaking. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.

The healing process takes about 6-8 weeks when the true color is evident. During this process, it will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Wait at least 6 weeks to see the true color, as it seems to take on new strength, and it is only after 6-8 weeks that your retouch/adjustment can be made.

Using Vaseline on PMU eyeliner can cause more harm than good. Vaseline can interfere with the pigments in your PMU and cause them to fade prematurely. Additionally, Vaseline can trap bacteria and dirt, which can lead to infections. For these reasons, it's best to avoid using Vaseline on PMU eyeliner altogether. Instead, opt for a specifically designed PMU aftercare product that will help keep your liner looking its best.

Can You Get Permanent Eyeliner with Eyelash Extensions?

Many people are interested in permanent makeup eyeliner but wonder if they can still have lash extensions. The answer is yes, but there are a few things to remember. First, the extensions must be removed at least one week before the appointment. This ensures that all glue residue is removed from the lash line; leftover glue could interfere with the ink. You can resume wearing Lash extensions once the liner has healed. With these considerations in mind, you can enjoy the best of both worlds with lash extensions and permanent makeup eyeliner.

Does Permanent Eyeliner Hurt?

The short answer is that yes, it can hurt. But the level of pain is different for everyone. Some people report feeling only a slight pinch, while others say it feels like getting a tattoo. The pain level also depends on your skin's sensitivity and where the procedure is. For example, if the inner rim of your eye is being treated, that area is more delicate and can be more painful. There are ways to minimize the pain, though. Applying numbing cream before the procedure can help lessen the sensation. Can I Exercise After Permanent Eyeliner?

You should avoid any activities that will cause you to sweat profusely. This is because sweating can cause the pigment to spread and result in an uneven appearance. We also recommend avoiding all water activities, including saunas and hot tubs. If you must exercise, wipe your face with a clean, dry cloth afterward to remove any sweat. You should also avoid using makeup removers or cleansers that contain alcohol, as these can also cause the pigment to spread. With proper care, your permanent makeup eyeliner will last for years.

My Permanent Eyeliner Didn’t Take – Why?
