What are Ombre Powder Brows?

Ombré powder brows are a type of semi-permanent makeup that creates the illusion of fuller, thicker brows. The technique involves applying a darker shade of pigment to the outermost part of the brow, and then gradually lightening the color as it extends inward. This gives the brows a natural-looking gradient effect that can last for several years.

While ombré powder brows are often used to correct sparse or asymmetrical brows, they can also be worn by anyone who desires fuller, more defined brows. Thanks to their long-lasting results and low maintenance requirements, ombré powder brows have become one of the most popular types of permanent makeup in recent years.

How is it Done?

The technique uses a PMU machine to deposit pigment into the skin in a tapping motion, which creates a natural, feathered look. This technique involves gradually lightening the pigment as it moves from the inner to the outer edge of the brow, creating a soft, natural-looking effect. Here's what to expect during this procedure:

First, our technician will draw a template of your desired brow shape based on the golden ratio. This will help them to know where to place the pigment and how much to apply.

Next, they will select a pigment that best suits their natural skin tone. Going over select areas will help to create the illusion of fullness.

Using a PMU Machine, they will carefully apply the pigment to the inner part of your brow, working their way outwards in small areas.

Once the first layer is applied, your technician will repeat the process. working from the outer edge towards the inner part of the brow, filling in any sparse areas as they go. This will help to create a gradient effect.

Finally, they will apply an ointment over the brows to help protect them. It’s important to follow care guidelines to allow the pigment to be set properly.

Ombre powder brows can last for up to two years before they start to fade. touch-ups may be needed sooner if you have oily skin or expose your brows to sun or pool water regularly.

Types of Ombre

There are many different types of ombre powder brows that can be done. The most popular type is the natural ombre, which is achieved by using a light pigment to darken the outer edges of the brows. This creates a soft, natural-looking effect that is perfect for those who want to enhance their brows without looking overly made-up.

Other popular options include the reverse ombre, which uses a dark pigment to lighten the inner brows, and the ombré brow, which uses two different pigments to create a gradient effect.

No matter what type of ombre powder brow you choose, you're sure to end up with beautiful, full eyebrows that frame your face perfectly.

Attention Please
We strongly advise prospective new clients to book their Ombre Powder appointments at least 3-4 months before vacations, weddings, and special occasions. This allows adequate time for healing and a Retouch Appointment 6-8 Weeks before your event.

Ombre Brow Precare & Aftercare

Fifty percent of the outcome of your brows is dependent upon proper aftercare. In order for your new brows to heal properly (and look their best) these Pre & Post Care Instructions found below are very IMPORTANT.

PLEASE NOTE: Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be anywhere from 20-40% darker and bolder in color and 15% thicker. This can last up to 10 days after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place (This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures). The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but there should be minimal discomfort. During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.

The healing process takes about 6-8 weeks when the true color is evident. During this process, it will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Wait at least 6 weeks to see the true color, as it seems to take on new strength, and it is only after 6-8 weeks that your retouch/adjustment can be made.
