Is Lip Blush Safe?
Lip blushing is a safe procedure when performed by a licensed and experienced professional like our artists at Mireya Beauty Lab. Side effects are usually mild and temporary. They can include swelling, redness, and bruising. In rare cases, permanent makeup can cause an allergic reaction or infection. As with any cosmetic procedure, discussing allergies, sensitivities, or medical concerns during our initial consultation is important.
Lip Blush Aftercare
If you've just applied permanent makeup lip blush, you’re on your way to having beautiful, youthful-looking lips. Here are a few tips to help you take care of your new permanent makeup and keep it looking its best.
Day 1: Clean the treated area as directed and apply the provided skin ointment. It is important to note that kissing, rubbing, or friction in the treated area is not recommended.
Day2-3: keeping your lips hydrated throughout the day is essential; apply skin ointment consistently. We also recommended avoiding highly seasoned and greasy foods. Clean lips after each meal and reapply skin ointment.
Day4-7: during these days, your lips will flake and scab, do not pick at them. This can cause color loss.
Day 10: Your lips will be healed at this time, but the final color still has reached the surface. Continue to keep lips hydrated to get the best color results.
Avoid the following during the first 10 days of healing:
PLEASE NOTE: Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be anywhere from 20-40% darker and bolder in color and 15% thicker. This can last up to 10 days after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place (This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures). The treated area may feel sunburned afterward, but minimal discomfort should be. During the initial healing period, the skin should be minimal scabbing or flaking. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.
The healing process takes about 6-8 weeks when the true color is evident. During this process, it will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Wait at least 6 weeks to see the true color, as it seems to take on new strength, and it is only after 6-8 weeks that your retouch/adjustment can be made.
